Support OnTrackAmerica
OnTrackAmerica, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is built on a foundation of more than fifteen years of policy work by our founder, Michael Sussman. OnTrackAmerica’s mission is to increase the economic competitiveness while limiting the environmental impact of North America’s freight transportation system. OnTrackAmerica has introduced specific programs beginning in 2010 to accomplish this mission. These programs include:
- OnTrack2020, a campaign for doubling freight transportation efficiency by 2020.
- Freight Transportation Land Use Strategy is designed to develop the optimal use of land adjacent to rail lines, ports, airports, and industrial centers. This approach is being piloted in Pennsylvania as a model for the rest of the continent.
- OnTrackPennsylvania (OTPa) – Developing a new paradigm in freight transportation planning and investment.
- Moratorium on Rail Line Abandonment – OTA’s effort to strengthen North America’s branch line network.
To accomplish these initiatives OnTrackAmerica is introducing and advancing a methodology for multi-stakeholder collaboration in public-private sector planning that better integrates commercial activity and related public policy in partnership with Dr. Barbara Gray at Penn State University [more].
