OTPa Freight System Action Plan

OnTrackPennsylvania represents a shift—from discussing the need for coordinated transportation planning—to actually designing, committing to, and implementing an optimal freight transportation Action Plan. This Action Plan will be built the only way it can for a plan this important to work—by those needed to implement the plan collaborating alongside all those who are affected by it, i.e. transportation providers, shippers, developers, planners, suppliers, funders, and citizens.

Recommendation #7: "Railroad Right of way Preservation" - Evaluates the need in legislation changes to prevent existing Railroad ROW from being eliminated or sold to private company, and the maintenance of existing Railroad tracks.

Recommendation #9: "Intermodal Connections" - "Work with local and state agencies to develop an intermodal plan that considers area specific recommendations for improving freight mobility in the Charleston metropolitan area."
