The following principles guide all aspects of OnTrackAmerica—its goals, its operations, and its outcomes.
- Objectivity: OnTrackAmerica will not accept financial sponsorships that restrict attention to individual business agendas over common interests.
- Inclusivity: OnTrackAmerica will invite representation from all involved stakeholder groups.
- Balance: OnTrackAmerica facilitates dialogues wherein all participants’ perspectives are appreciated.
- Nonpartisanship: OnTrackAmerica will not contribute to political campaigns, thereby maintaining the autonomy and integrity of a nonpartisan entity.
- Common Interests: OnTrackAmerica will work to create better policy, programs, and planning whereby individual projects are funded in concert with the advancement of system-wide productivity.
- Coordination and Collaboration: OnTrackAmerica will advance the integration of collaboration with competition. “Effective service to the marketplace” is a more productive public policy principle than “maximizing competition.”
- Whole System Growth: OnTrackAmerica believes that growing profitable transportation businesses within an effective transportation system is enhanced by serving the smallest as well as the largest transportation users and providers. OnTrackAmerica supports the utilization of all transport modes within a sound multimodal system.
